Therapist Brentwood | Somatic Psychotherapy
I offer somatic therapy and body-centered healing support in Brentwood, CA for adults who may appear composed, responsible, and steady while feeling tense, overwhelmed, or disconnected inside. You may be navigating grief, chronic illness, trauma, perfectionism, life transitions, or the quiet fatigue that comes from holding yourself together for a long time. My role is to offer a grounded therapeutic space where you do not have to perform calm in order to be supported.
I have served clients across Santa Monica and the Westside for years, including people living near San Vicente, Brentwood Village, the Getty area, residential canyons, and the neighborhoods between Santa Monica, Westwood, and Pacific Palisades. Brentwood has a calm, polished, and private quality, with tree-lined streets, families, professionals, and high-achieving adults who often carry more than others might imagine. The lifestyle may look stable from the outside, but the body can still feel braced, alert, or tired.
In Brentwood, many clients come to this work when being capable is no longer enough. You may have spent years managing grief, responsibility, or transition quietly. I offer support that is attuned, embodied, and respectful of your pace, helping you build a more trusting relationship with your body rather than continuing to override it.
Here’s What’s Included
Step 1: Slowing Down and Building Awareness
We begin by creating space to notice what is happening in your body, thoughts, and emotional life. Together we explore patterns of tension, sensation, and response, helping you understand how your nervous system has learned to organize itself over time.
Step 2: Developing a Relationship with Your Inner Experience
Rather than trying to fix or override what you feel, we build curiosity and capacity with what arises in the moment. This may include somatic awareness, relational dialogue, EMDR when appropriate, or gentle movement and creative exploration.
Step 3: Supporting Integration Over Time
As awareness grows, many people begin to notice meaningful shifts, more room to breathe, more flexibility in how they respond to stress, and a deeper sense of trust in their own bodies.

Somatic Psychotherapy
You may be used to being composed, responsible, or steady for everyone else, while privately feeling tense, overwhelmed, or disconnected from your own needs. Grief, chronic illness, trauma, perfectionism, or a life transition may have made it harder to keep holding everything together.
You may be very practiced at appearing calm, capable, and appropriate, even when your body is tired of performing stability. The cost of being the steady one can show up as tension, irritability, numbness, fatigue, or a quiet distance from your own wants and limits.
Through somatic psychotherapy, we may explore sensation, emotion, pacing, memory, movement, and the protective patterns that helped you stay strong. Beneath San Vicente errands, village routines, family responsibility, privacy, achievement, and polished calm, this work offers a space where you do not have to stay composed to be held.
Movement Therapy
You may be practiced at moving through life with composure, responsibility, and restraint, while your body quietly carries tension, grief, fatigue, or the pressure to stay steady. Even rest can feel difficult when your system has learned to hold so much together.
Movement can offer a way to soften the grip without losing yourself. You may begin to notice the difference between control and support, between stillness and holding, between performing calm and actually having enough room to feel.
In movement therapy, we may explore breath, posture, sensation, pacing, subtle movement, emotion, and the protective patterns that helped you remain composed. Beneath San Vicente errands, village routines, family responsibility, privacy, achievement, and polished calm, this work gives the body space to stop holding everything alone.
Trauma Therapy
Composure can become a language of survival. You may be practiced at appearing steady, appropriate, and capable, while your body quietly carries trauma as tension, fatigue, vigilance, or distance from your own needs.
The cost of always holding it together can show up slowly. Irritability, numbness, perfectionism, over-responsibility, or difficulty resting may be signs that your system needs more support than self-control can offer.
In trauma therapy, we may explore sensation, pacing, memory, emotion, self-protection, and the places where your body learned to stay strong. Beneath San Vicente errands, village routines, privacy, achievement, and polished calm, this space lets you stop performing steadiness.
EMDR Therapy
Composure can keep old pain well hidden. You may appear calm and responsible while certain memories still leave your body tense, guarded, or quietly exhausted.
There can be a meaningful shift when your system no longer has to manage the past through control. More steadiness, clearer boundaries, and less internal pressure can become possible.
In EMDR therapy, we may work with memories, body responses, images, and beliefs that still hold charge. Beneath San Vicente routines, privacy, family responsibility, and polished calm, this creates room for what has been carefully contained.
Ketamine Therapy
Depression, grief, trauma, or chronic stress can live beneath a composed exterior. You may keep routines, responsibilities, and appearances intact while feeling internally heavy, distant, or tired from holding so much.
There can be relief in accessing material that has felt stuck or unreachable. This work supports not only the experience itself, but the slow process of integrating what becomes visible.
Ketamine therapy may include preparation, body awareness, imagery, emotion, memory, and meaning-making. Beneath San Vicente routines, privacy, family responsibility, and polished calm, this offers space where you do not have to keep everything contained.
OCD Therapy
The need to appear composed can make OCD feel even more isolating. Intrusive thoughts, checking, health fears, or reassurance seeking may be happening beneath a calm and capable exterior.
There can be relief in naming the loop without shame. The work can help you practice responding to fear differently, so your life is not organized around preventing every possible outcome.
In OCD therapy, we may explore uncertainty, compulsive patterns, body anxiety, avoidance, and the pressure to remain in control. Beneath San Vicente routines, privacy, family responsibility, and polished calm, this gives the anxious mind less authority.

Testimonials
“Danielle is a wonderfully intuitive practitioner who knows how to listen and empathize at a very deep level. She also has a deep, spiritual presence and understanding that can only be attained through real life experiences - In other words she gets it. She really helped me gain clarity on my goals and feel more grounded. I’d recommend her to anyone looking for a blend of intellect and intuition.”
Client
"What I valued most about working with Danielle was her genuine curiosity. She made a real effort to understand me rather than fit me into a framework, which helped me build more self-compassion and trust in myself. I always felt like a partner in the process, never a patient being managed. I'm so grateful I found her."
Client
“The space Danielle creates could only come from someone who has done deep excavation work and returned with the medicine of her soul. She is exquisitely embodied, attuned, and holds a torch for others to safely inhabit their bodies and express themselves – no matter where they are on their journey. No matter where I am inside of myself when I enter her classes, I leave feeling more connected to myself and my own expression.”

Hello, I’m Danielle Wiggins, a somatic therapist serving Brentwood
I am the founder of Space Takes Practice, a somatic psychotherapy practice created for people who are ready to stop performing calm and begin listening honestly. This work grew from my own experience of learning that strength is not the same as control, and that healing requires pacing, consent, and relationship with the body. I support adults who may appear composed while privately carrying grief, trauma, chronic illness, OCD, religious trauma, or the exhaustion of holding everything together.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does virtual therapy work?
Virtual therapy sessions are held through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. You’ll receive a private link before your session—no downloads needed. All you need is a stable internet connection, a quiet space, and a device with a camera and microphone.
Can I use my insurance for virtual therapy?
Yes! We are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Ambetter, QualChoice, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, and Arkansas Medicaid.
If we are out-of-network with your provider, we can provide a superbill that you can submit for potential reimbursement.
What if I prefer in-person therapy?
We currently offer both virtual and in-person sessions at our Little Rock office. You can choose the option that best fits your schedule, comfort, and needs—many clients even combine both for flexibility.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my session?
We understand that things come up. We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to reschedule or cancel your appointment.
- First late cancellation or no-show: $25 fee
- Second occurrence: $50 fee
- Third and following: $100 fee
This policy helps us reserve time for clients who are waiting for sessions while respecting your therapist’s schedule.
Can I switch therapists within Vida Collective?
Absolutely. We know the right fit matters. If at any point you feel another therapist might better meet your needs, our team can help you transition smoothly to another provider within our practice.
Do you offer therapy in Spanish?
Yes! Vida Collective Counseling is a bilingual practice offering therapy in both English and Spanish. You can choose the language that feels most natural and comfortable for you. We believe healing happens best when you can express yourself fully, in the language of your heart.
